			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>It has become apparent that the important part of what I do, help others, is not getting out to those that visit my websites. This is obviously my fault, but must change, so over the next few weeks I will be changing the way I communicate my work.</p>
<p>This site <a href="http://www.wanttochange.me/">www.wanttochange.me</a> will have a simplification across the board with some additions of optional videos where appropriate. It will also be my “brochure” so for anyone that knows me, has met me or simply wants more information on the work I do, this is where you can come for it.</p>
<p>For those that know little or nothing about my work I will be creating satellite sites on each area of my work. The first of these is up and running <a href="http://www.getmethin.biz/">www.getmethin.biz</a> explains my work in weight control and the failings of the diet industry. More of these will follow, each one explaining a different area of my work.</p>
<p>It is my hope that this will make my work clearer to you my clients or interested readers. So that you can make informed decisions about whether to work with me or indeed any hypnotist.</p>
<p>If these styles of sites are of interest to you in your business then do contact me via email I would be only too happy to point you in the right direction in creating them yourself.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Today I, and my client are on a high. I got to ask , &#8220;Do you need me anymore?&#8221; and she got to say , &#8220;No!&#8221;</p>

<p>Now this happens all the time for me, I am pleased to say, but the difference this time was that this client was in a very painful place only three weeks ago. The turnaround has been remarkable and so fast we are both pleasantly shocked.</p>
<p>So no names but, this lady came to me with a problem with laxative abuse of over 30 a day and anorexia. For those that don&#8217;t know this is not uncommon and the thoughts around this area are usually but not exclusively about controlling at least this area of life.</p>
<p>After my usual free initial consultation I projected timescales for her as usual. 8-12 weeks minimum to see any movement with this type of condition and we would go nice a slow at her pace. All was well and she agreed to the treatment and commitment of the time.</p>
<p>After an initial session of EFT however we started to see movement in only week one! She was feeling a little better about herself and could &#8220;see the day&#8221; when laxatives would no longer be part of her life. After the first Inner-Repatterning session everything changed though.</p>
<p>She returned on Week three a different lady. Clothes changed, all smiles and for the first time saying she felt &#8220;great&#8221;. A sensation that to her had not really happened for many years. We finished the third session with the question above, &#8220;Do you need me anymore?&#8221; We are of course in touch and I am looking forward to her testimonial so that I can post it here.  (Nothing has changed Since, she is still on top of the world)</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>All businesses use different ways to promote themselves and some work better than others. Some <em>seem</em> like they are the logical and best way to promote the good work that you do. Of course, however it may seem, if results are not forthcoming then you are wrong and you need to stop using whatever is not working. This has been the case for me with some of my methods.</p>
<p>Like many ordinary folk it has taken me a while to realise this, I should have adapted earlier perhaps, but I am human and like all of us sometimes we cannot see the habits we have formed right away. So changes are now being made and all is good but of course I am a therapist and we don&#8217;t just leave such thoughts alone. What other invisible habits do I have and what other limitations am I putting on myself. Some me work is definitely on the cards.</p>
<p>AND I am asking you the same question, what are trying now for the umpteenth time that has not worked before and really you should not expect to work this time? Why are you expecting it to? Can you change? For me change is a natural state that I can embrace but for many it is frightening or difficult.</p>
<p>Just remember no one ever did anything new, special, or remarkable by repeating what they have always done. You are fabulous and will be strong enough. You have more help than you think. You can always call me!</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I was expanding my knowledge again at the weekend with the fun and expert<a title="Tania on her website" href="http://www.eft-courses.co.uk/eft_trainer_tania.htm" target="_blank"> Tania Prince</a>. Tania is one of the few real EFT Masters trained by Gary Craig himself. Her knowledge on this subject is therefore extensive and her courses on this subject well worth attending. They are also fun!</p>
<p>This weekend however I was attending the <a title="Info about Inner re-patterning" href="http://www.eft-courses.co.uk/eft-inner-repatterning.htm" target="_blank">Inner Re-patterning course</a>, a system developed by Tania herself that boils down the essence of what enables you to get better from the many different things she is expert in, and boy does it work!</p>
<p>Unlike so many systems of healing Inner Re-patterning can take on and help with &#8220;whole life&#8221; problems, and patterns of behaviours that have stuck with you, despite trying for years. It can also deal with multiple problems at once and all in a way that does not even require you to opening discuss these feelings or even fully understand them yourself.</p>
<p>For this reason, as a technique, it can help with some really difficult and deep seated problems, the testing done so far by Tania and her students has shown movement even with conditions like severe depression, Bi-polar disease, autism and much more. It is also effective with procrastination, long term grief, anger, stress or Severe trauma.</p>
<p>The good news is it is fast and gentle. I will certainly be offering it to my clients from today on, where I believe the issue would take longer or be more difficult for the client to face with any other method.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Today I went to see the most excellent Coriolanus. As ever this got me thinking in this case about how much our parents can shape us, for good and ill. For those that don&#8217;t know this is a modern take on Shakespeare&#8217;s last tragedy. Without giving too much away the main character is very much a product of his mothers desires and making. It makes him both great and yet unyielding when the need arises.</p>
<p>I have seen my fair share of this, and on a thoughtful day, will admit to some of my own! We cannot help but formed by our most influential figures in our lives; Mum and Dad. Love them, hate them, speak to them every day, or never, visit them all the time or never, they still influence our minds and our decisions. Most of the time this is fine, good stuff predominates and the bad stuff is no sweat really.</p>
<p>IF the balance changes though it can really upset how you look at life in virtually everyway. THIS CAN BE CHANGED though. Careful and considered use of hypnosis and EFT can reduce the influence of ill considered words and actions. When this is done well it can change your whole outlook on life for the better.</p>
<p>So I would strongly recommend Coriolanus, it is a strong play, albeit pretty dark and heavy throughout. It is window into a world and life we can only thank chance we are not living.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>With most business people in full on panic with the accounts being filed right now it occurs to me that you need to know your essential nature and play to your strengths. Knowing your make up can not only help you be happier but also help you understand why kind of job you should be doing or not in the first place.</p>
<p>So although there are a number of ways of understanding how we work best I would like to look at the Goal centred/ Risk averse scale today.</p>
<p>In any given situation or task we are motivated on a sliding scale either by dividing a job into little pieces and setting goals for each and an overall task OR by the threat of punishment of some form for NOT doing the task at hand.</p>
<p>Those that set tasks are Goal centred and those that avoid threats are risk averse. The more to one end the scale you are the more extreme your nature will be in this regard.</p>
<p>So we all know the type that has lists of lists and knows exactly how much work to do today so that their thesis is written with exactly two weeks to spare, totally goal centred.</p>
<p>We also all know the panicked all nighters types who try to write fifty thousand words in 24hours, risk averse.</p>
<p>The important thing to know is that neither is Good or Bad. We may in some regards wish we were like the other type on occasion, (more  organised, more spontaneous). We are not though and we should be looking to fit a square peg into a square hole wherever possible.</p>
<p>So when you go for your next job interview, look for what suits your nature. It really will make you happier and your boss too! Employers try to get someone who will fit your job requirements and if you don&#8217;t know how then profile it AND your prospects using the above scales. <p>THAT SAID. Extreme aversion to work and total lack of motivation is something else altogether and can be likely be treated in one way or another, To find out this is something I can help with then why not book a free consultation?</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>There is nothing more destructive to a relationship than a brooding anger in one or even both partners. It creates a divide that may not have been there before and a barrier to pulling together against the common problem, whatever that might be. Eventually it will totally destroy any feelings you have for each other.</p>
<p>It has been my privilege to assist a few people who have found themselves in difficult times in their relationships. They have come to see me and been brave enough to be totally honest with where they are, what they have done and how they feel about it. Some have been to very dark places. All felt pretty bad.</p>
<p>For many of these people the anger they felt was a learnt habit, just like any other, taught to them by a parent or other influential people in their life. Reinforced by years of bad behaviour around them or by them, it was a ticking bomb waiting to go off. Something had to give and no one was happy.</p>
<p>All are now in a better place than when they first came to see me. Most are now still with their partners and I am pleased to say no longer have that underlying anger. This can change for the better and quicker than you think, but you really do need to want this one to change.</p>
<p>So if you want that monkey off your back. If you are ready to talk to me, honestly, about all the things you feel and have done, if you really want to change how you feel and behave. If you want a relationship based on fun and joy, not anger and fear; call me up and book in to chat. I will not shy away from the hard questions but I will never, ever judge you for what you are or have done.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Occasionally I see someone who is failing their driving test, not because they can&#8217;t drive but because they can&#8217;t perform. This can be resolved if you understand why it happens.</p>
<p>You see your test is a false situation. After you have passed your test, you will never be scrutinised and criticised for your driving in this way ever again. The cost of lessons and the test puts further pressure on you and so you MUST perform, there and then or fail, there and then.</p>
<p>It is almost exactly the same kind of pressures felt by stage actors, with many of the same symptoms. Cold sweats, loss of memory, erratic behaviour, dread of the situation, fear, vomiting, shaking legs or arms, loss of concentration and most importantly a total lack of confidence in the abilities you definitely already have.</p>
<p>Using EFT and Hypnotic visualisation can reduce the symptoms to nil or virtually so and build back your confidence to the kind of levels needed to get you through this test of your nerves. You may even enjoy it! This really does work and I have had success not only with clients in the UK but also in Holland where if you fail 5 times you NEVER get a licence. Imagine the pressure that creates!</p>
<p>So don&#8217;t suffer, don&#8217;t keep facing your fears, that does not work and does not help, find a solution instead.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>When we have learnt a bad habit<strong>,</strong> or have developed a fear of something or a certain situation<strong>,</strong> then our emotions override our rational minds and we end up acting in a way we often know is not logical or good for us.<span id="more-983"></span></p>
<p>So the smoker smokes even though he knows full well the health impact of cigarettes<strong>,</strong> and the Phobic sweats and panics at the sight of a mouse or prospect of getting on an aeroplane.</p>
<p>No amount of rationalisation in these situations will ever make it any better. On my part, I have had a life-long fear of dogs. No amount of owners saying, “He is very friendly!”, or the very helpful “Don’t show him your fear!”, has ever helped in over 40 years. This fear is not really debilitating for me<strong>,</strong> but I may get a colleague to deal with it soon, for my own satisfaction.</p>
<p>This internal conflict is like a tug of war. Your emotional side, your subconscious, is pulling on one end of the rope and your logical mind is pulling on the other. The problem is that your subconscious never sleeps or rests and is always working to “protect” you. It will make you feel anything it needs to, in order to ensure you continue to behave in the way you or circumstance taught it to recognize as “normal” or “desirable”. On the other hand<strong>,</strong> your conscious mind needs to rest and can only use discipline and willpower as its weapons in this fight <strong>-</strong> weapons that make you feel tired and as though you are depriving yourself. Who wants that? No one! Especially not forever.</p>
<p>This is why so many smokers tell me, “I enjoy smoking”. Their subconscious delivers all the positive feelings to ensure they carry on. No one really believes, logically, that smoking is a pleasure<strong>,</strong> but to a smoker it really is, as their subconscious overrides any negative physical reaction and delivers the “feel-good” stuff needed to reward this behaviour. When they quit with willpower their subconscious makes them feel awful until they return to the “desirable” behaviour.</p>
<p>It is doing this because it was taught, through emotion, “smoking is good”, when you first picked up a cigarette. All the reasons behind that first smoke are emotional<strong>:</strong> to fit in, to get a girl, to feel grown up, etc.  The subconscious cannot understand any logical argument against this<strong>,</strong> and so has never changed its opinion.  The smoker will continue to smoke for exactly the same reason as what started them all that time ago.</p>
<p>With fears, on the other hand, your subconscious is making you feel awful. It does this so you don’t or can’t do the thing that made you feel bad or threatened sometime in the past. The more you face that fear, the more your subconscious will make you feel worse. After all<strong>,</strong> what it did before didn’t stop you getting on the plane<strong>,</strong> so it must try something worse&#8230; and worse, and worse<strong>,</strong> until you can’t fly anymore.</p>
<p>This is why willpower is a terrible way to give up a bad habit<strong>,</strong> why “facing” fears does not work and quitting  smoking is considered hard.</p>
<p>It is also why we justify buying things we don’t need or can’t afford, when the real reason we shell out £400-500 for the latest Apple iPad or pair of shoes is that we WANT IT. Deep down in our subconscious we have made an emotional connection and now we will justify this any way we can to make sure we get it.</p>
<p>The good news is that these vicious circles can be broken by re-educating your subconscious, with hypnosis and the emotional freedom technique. You can get your internal desires in harmony with your logical personal goals. Once your subconscious wants you not to smoke<strong>,</strong> then you will not only stop instantly but will suffer virtually no withdrawal at all. Once your subconscious realises mice and aeroplanes are safe<strong>,</strong> then you will get no fear reactions at all. Once your subconscious wants you to be secure in the future financially, then purchases become controlled.</p>
<p>The surprising thing about these treatments is that they can be fast and effective even for long<strong>-</strong>term problems. So it really can be worth speaking with a hypnotherapist about what you want to change. After all what do you have to lose?</p>
